Building with SIPs.
The structural Insulated panels are typically made by sandwiching a core of rigid EPS foam inÂsulation between two structural skins of oriented strand board (OSB). Other skin material can be added for specific purposes, such as PVC & MagÂnesium Oxide boards. SIPs are manufactured under factory controlled conditions & can be custom designed for each home.
Solutions
Structurally Insulated Panels (S I P s ) are a proven international building panel system used  for over 50 years in the U S A and Europe. It is accepted as a high thermal performance, structurally sound and green, innovative building solution.
The S I P s panels produce a warm, thermally efficient, low waste, air tight and cost effective superior solution to traditional timber framing in housing solutions.
The panels can be used for wall frames, floor frames in some load situations, and roof panel frames.
The panels are structural elements and additional specific design can be undertaken by way of beams, portals and supporting posts to achieve the designers objectives.
The choice of cladding systems is very flexible and it is the clients and Designers total choice of what they wish to specify, Claddings are fixed to the exterior of the panels, often over cavity battens, or with metal ties for a brick veneer cladding solution. The OSB facings internally can be painted directly to give a textured finish, or a contemporary plaster and paint finish  can be achieved by direct sticking plaster board to the panel OSB board.
Flexible building forms and shapes can be achieved in designing S I P s residential solutions.
Architectural style is driven by the client brief and Designer and there is no limit to what can be achieved with building forms. Two and three storey residential buildings can be built in the S I P s form of construction.
Our company can initiate and coordinate Feasibility and Master plan studies for Tourist accommodation, residential housing and multiple education spaces for Schools, with its talented team of Architects, Interior Designers and Project Managers. Once the project feasibility is completed and proven, and a start is requested by the client for Implementation of the project, MeS can work with its design team and project partners, to deliver panel supply, building material procurement, Construction delivery and project manage the project to client occupation of the facility.
The speedy nature of S I P s construction is a big winner for open site construction activity on a large scale, and is achieved by the efficiencies achieved with the repetitive panel modules, and the lightweight nature of the panels makes handling and installation relatively easy.
Accommodation
Motel, Hotel and Apartment Accommodation buildings are  immentily suitable for building in S I Ps construction due to the repetitive form of construction required, and the high thermal performance and air tightness of SIPs panels.
Hotel and Motel room walls can be constructed in one full height panel element which makes for very speedy construction assembly, of a hotel floor accommodation.
The application of plaster board linings to the external faces of the OSB Board provides for the required fire rating  between sleeping accommodation units and achieves the noise reduction levels to acceptable standards between the hotel rooms.
Our Design Team
Structurally Insulated panels (S I P s ) are ideally suited to creating large open plan classroom spaces and teaching environments in Schools and Educational facilities.
Large wall and roof panel areas can be erected quickly by joining the 1.2 metre wide panel module together with a second panel to form a 2.4 wide panel up to 12 metre’s long. Using this form of panel assembly and erection, construction progress is rapid.
Smaller classrooms can be built very effectively in S I P’ s construction to provide a warm, airtight, healthy and naturally light teaching environments.
Metal faced S I P s panel classrooms have been built around NZ by MES in its earlier days of operation. These classrooms have proved to be weatherproof, economic and healthy teaching environment’s.Classrooms have been built successfully at Samuel Marsden School Whitby, Wellington, Hoon Hay Primary School Christchurch, Kauri Park Primary in Auckland and Tawa Primary in Wellington.
MES are currently working with their Designers Robert Montgomery Architects and consultants, in developing a modular classroom to meet Ministry of Educations current Specifications requirements using the Formance SIPs panel.
The classrooms will be leading edge modular construction able to be fitted into varying school architectural environments and be very cost effective but high performance.
Interior Design
Residential
It has been a great joy when my partner and I began researching design options for our new house that we came in contact with Robert Montgomery Architect and he introduced us to the construction system of S I P s and the Formance Structurally Insulated  panel system  being distributed and to be  made shortly in  Christchurch NZ.
As a thermal Engineer I wanted to build a thermally efficient, green home and from the design work and thermal calculations Robert Montgomery Architects have done, and I have reviewed I am totally confident I will achieve my goals.
We are very excited with the appointment recently of our Builder Beck Building Ltd to build the house and we look forward to construction beginning, very eagerly

Education
The Samuel Marsden Whitby Collegiate School Project was designed by Modular e Solutions in a Structurally Insulated metal faced panel system, and was carried out with smooth efficiency, causing minimum distruption to the working school.
The team from Modular e Solutions, Peddle Thorp Montgomery Architects and Ebert Construction was a pleasure to work with.
They were professional and responsive on all matters and the project was completed ahead of schedule.
